Marin Family Action continues to fight back with MUSIC – On Saturday, June 19, 2010, in Novato, Calif. at Hamilton Amphitheater, Marin Family Action is sponsoring its second annual MARINSTOCK FESTIVAL, a benefit to aid families in foreclosure.

Marin Family action works year-round in supporting Marin County residents through various programs and events. All are designed to assure successful outcomes for our clients, and many are designed to bring joy into stress-filled lives. Our fundraisers cover our modest expenses and help with legal fees needed for our Home Save Project.

Foreclosures continue to spike across the country.

Nine Northern California counties reported rising foreclosure rates, Foreclosures.com announced today, with Contra Costa and Alameda counties leading the pack. Contra Costa County saw a 26 percent increase in foreclosure filings from the first quarter to the second quarter of this year, followed by Alameda County with a 22.6 percent rise.

“The foreclosure crisis has not only hurt families, but has also depressed local economies, affected our state’s budget and led to the deterioration of many neighborhoods,” said Governor Schwarzenegger. “This money will help provide prompt relief and assistance to individuals, families and communities while also helping create jobs throughout California.”

“What we can do is help families that have done everything right to stay in their homes,” Obama said at a town hall meeting in Nevada, a state where 65 percent of homeowners are underwater – the term for owing more than a home is worth. “This fund is going to help out-of-work homeowners prevent foreclosures.”
